Ecological groups

This dashboard shows ecological groups for habitats and species listed in the Annexes of the Habitats Directive. Targeted assessments related to Habitats directive habitats and species require adequate groupings or classifications to derive meaningful results. This dashboard presents the ecological groups developed in 2022. It specifies for each habitat or species to which of the defined ecological groups it belongs. The ecological groups for habitats and species of the Directive contain eight broad (level 1) ecological groups and within each broad group several detailed (level 2) groups, which were chosen due to their relevance for policy related analysis.
